Practical Maternal Medicine for GPs and Practice Nurses
Thursday 7th March 2024, 9am to 5pm
Pregnant people are now often older and frequently have significant co-morbidities. Effective and safe care for women with medical conditions around the time of pregnancy requires coordinated input from multiple health care professionals.
The East Midlands Maternal Medicine Network recognises that the role of GPs in caring for patients around the time of pregnancy is changing and would therefore like to invite you to a continuing professional development update day.
The aim of the day is to increase attendees’ knowledge, skills and confidence in managing women with health conditions before, during and after pregnancy and to raise awareness around helpful resources and regional contacts and referral pathways. We would also like to use the opportunity to learn from you where and how we can offer support to improve relevant primary – secondary care interface.
The programme will include :
- Prescribing in Pregnancy
- Managing Perinatal Mental Health Illness
- Applied Obstetric Haematology
- Post-partum Care
- Pregnancy Related Conditions & Long Term Health
- Pre-conception Advice and Guidance
- Managing Vomiting & Hyperemesis
